Itunes Backup

I had backed up a 64GB iPhone 6S to iTunes. i recently switch to the iPhone 7 Plus 32GB. When i want to restore the backup on my 32GB phone, theres not enough space. Is there any tool or way i can use to at least save the files from the backup on to my MacBook pro?

Did you back the iPhone 6s to iTunes on your Macbook Pro? If so, then the backup is already there. You cannot look at or partially restore a backup.

what i mean is, i cannot view the pictures or anything stored on the backup since i can't put it on my phone. i do have the password for the backup. i would like to know how can i extract the backup to my computer.

As I stated, you cannot look at or partially restore a backup. There is no way to "see" what is on it unless you restore it to an iOS device. You cannot see its contents any other way. There is no way to extract an iOS backup on a macOS system, or anywhere else for that matter.

Did you not have your photos anywhere except on a backup? If you are not saving your photos by importing them to the Photos app on your Mac, or by using an archival cloud service like Dropbox, Flikr, Google, or Amazon Photos. Not saving your photos in this sort of manner will almost assuredly result in the loss of important photos and memories.

Sorry,
