If I choose an account I get a list of all mess...

If I choose an account on my iPad mail I get a list of all messages, BUT the mail program positions itself to messages that are several months old. If I want to see my latest messages I have to scroll up to the top of the list. Since I typically have several hundred messages in my list this is a real pain as I typically have to scroll past a couple of hundred messages to see my most recent messages. (Question: why doesn't the Mail program position itself at the top of the list of messages, showing most recent first?).  The actual position that the Mail program chooses does sometimes vary, but it is NEVER at the top of the list where it would be most useful.
