admin password reset

I recently added a work mac book to my apple line of devices. all are connected with iCloud.

My iMac never had an admin password (it was blank). Now I cannot reset the admin password.

There is only one admin. No option appears on Mac os Sierra to reset via apple ID

Please advise how I can reset the admin password

I  know the user password. The admin password is the problem
