(iCloud Photo Library) Missing photos

I just noticed a few days ago that all my photos from last Christmas and the days surrounding it have disappeared. This is probably less than 100 photos. They are not in my Recently Deleted album. I have also checked both my MacBook and my iPhone. They were taken on an iPod touch 5th generation, which is currently smashed and not in use, but all the other photos from it are there. I have one photo taken on Christmas morning that's in a Shared Album.

Thanks.

Go to www.icloud.com (via a browser) and check the Photos app to see if they're there.

Just did that before you replied, and no, they're not there either.

Photos aren't stored in backups, like that article said.

Try restoring from a backup.

The photos are not stored in backups, though?

The photos aren't in the backup of a device if you are syncing using iCloud.

Do you have a computer backup that might contain the photos?

I may have iTunes backups on the Mac I was using at the time, but surely if iCloud Photo Library was turned on, photos are still stored in iCloud and not in any backups?

Is your Mac's Photo application syncing and a backup of it's Library could be restored?

It is syncing, but I assume you mean a Time Machine backup, and unfortunately I do not back up this Mac.

Hi,

Did you ever find a solution? I have lost thousands of photos which disappeared from my iCloud.

I've tried restoring the backup but it restored everything except the photos!

Did you find a solution to this? I’ve just found hundreds of my holiday photos are missing on all four of my devices!
