email smart groups in Sierra looses a contact

I've created a Smart Group that has 5 contacts...all good. But when I try to send an email to the group there are only 4 names that show up. Each contact has the same note. I've deleted the group and created it again with the same results of only 4 out of the 5 people I want to send and email. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
