Is number 408

I Submitted a request for a call back and was called almost immediately from this number.  I then received another call about a half hour later from an 800 number.  It's all related to an email I supposedly received from Apple.  The first caller said the email was legitimate and if I wasn't interested I should unsubscrib, which I did.  I'm now wondering if the 408 number is really Apple.

Here are all the contact numbers Apple publishes:

Searching for it seems that most people got a call from Apple with that number showing on the Caller ID.

Where did you submit the request for a call back? Was it here on Apple's website? Or did you click a link in the email?

I Logged in to Apple.com.  i never clicked on the links in the email.  All I did was click the unsubscribe as directed by the person on the phone that claimed to be from Apple.  Im pretty sure the email was a scam and I will get a million spam emails now but I still don't know if the number is Apple.  If not, could their website be compromised?

I had a call from this number just a few minutes ago. it belongs to a Mr. Chris Brown. He says he is from Apple Support. The location on the call says San Diego, but it is an east Phoenix , Az area code, so

I'm assuming it's a persons cell phone. Why he would call from his cell phone and not an 800 number makes me suspicious. I didn't believe he was from Apple, my guy tells me something different. I have an appointment with Apple I/t today. When I called them, they confirmed I spoke with Mr Brown, but it still doesn't feel legit. Funny thing is my activity log says I'm in San Diego. I haven't been there since 1990! I feel like I'm getting punked!

Lol well hmmm track down that number and if u have to mark it has spam and notify the police department in ur state non emergency I think Bt I'm not sure if u should call the emergency or NON emergency number or try both bc if this fake then they'll probably want ur credit card or debit info so DNT give it to them, if it's TRULY NOT APPLE  that's considered a scam if it ain't legit

Notifying the police will not help. There are scam calls made thousands of times every day and there isn't much you can do about it except hang up and do not give them any private information.

I simply do not answer calls if I do not know who is calling. They always hang up and do not leave a message.

the number is legit. the apple i/t personnel work out of their homes. i mentioned it at the appointment i had at the store. explained it all, they confessed that , yes they support work from home and they nknew the name Chris Brown well as one of their employees. BTW, they didn't fix the issue i had, but did see an upgrade i " needed" to install... which i did. now i have more goofy ah*t on my phone that won't come off and i won't use. it still sucking data and Mr Brownand I are playing phone tag. i am seriously thinking of going to a different brand  as apple doesn't stand by their product nor do they fix them. but Mr Brown does work for Apple, he just calls from his cell phone.

Mr christopher brown

apple senior advisor

1-877-2030 extn1163839

works mon-fri

That is only a partial phone number. And, this senior advisor gave YOU his number; anyone needing assistance will need to go through the regular channels first - and they may wind up with a different senior advisor.

FWIW, the partial number you posted isn't anywhere close to the number the OP mentioned. And, unless the store personnel has access to a complete list of employees, I doubt very seriously that they would know of a particular advisor considering Apple has thousands of employees scattered throughout several states (and foreign countries).

Couldn't get to my phone fast enough

Front and back of cards purchased at shop and save Melissa with apple deactivated one I think I was scammed out of my money $300

I don't know about that specific number, but yes, calls from area code 408 are common for support calls or call backs from Apple in the USA.

Hello Wildrose85014. I too thought at first that this was a (480) East Phoenix exchange. After looking at it again, the (408) area code is listed as covering most of Santa Clara County and Northern Santa Cruz County California. As many have noted, could be Apple but who knows for sure at this point? I hope this helps clar
