Need to access my MacBook Pro

My MacBook Pro was set up several years ago.  We have not used it.  We do not remember who's apple id was used or the password.  I would like to give the computer to my daughter but we can not get in.  Can someone please help.  I called Apple Support but they could not help me.

Just fyi, there is no connection between any Apple ID and the login password, so you may have used a different password than your Apple ID. Maybe that will help widen your "search" a bit?
