emails disappear from iphone mailbox when I ope...

I receive emails fine on both my iphone 4s and my laptop windows mail account, but as soon as I open Windows mail, all the emails in my iphone inbox delete! Please help!

That's because you have the mail client on your laptop set up to use POP3 instead of IMAP. POP3 deletes messages from the server when they are downloaded to the client by default.

The phone is set up to connect using IMAP, which synchronizes with the server. Since the messages were deleted from the server by the Windows client, they are also removed from the phone.

On your laptop, go into the account settings and set the messages to remain on the server.  That should solve it quickly.

Otherwise setting up the account as an IMAP account will resolve it as well.

I have followed these steps and connected the phone to the laptop. Is there any way to recover the lost emails...or will they turn up eventually?
