I have suddenly stopped receiving my Exchange e...

I have suddenly stopped receiving my Exchange email in the Mail client.  Only my Inbox is affected.  My Junk Mail and another folder w diverted emails from a listserv are updating.  I can send emails just fine.  Mail works on iPhone fine.  Any ideas?!  I have read previous threads and tried changing the incoming/outcoming servers but they are all correct (works on other Macs).  Our IT department has been less than helpful.  Thanks!

I have had many people come in with this problem. The fix I found, is to update their Macs to the latest MacOS. I have had a 3 for 3 success in doing this. My best guess, is that security protocols on the exchange end, do not mesh well with "legacy" Mac mail clients. I did try many other fixes before doing this, ones that fixed issues similar before, with no luck.

I am still researching a better fix, but thought I would give you what you can do right now.

It worked!  I was thinking that I was current with all the updates (which I was) but wasn't thinking about the OS being older.  Installing Sierra worked.   Thank you!!! 

No problem. Great to hear that it worked. Had a few more today I dealt with that had to do the same to fix it.

I upgraded OS back in late July and it fixed the problem, but it just returned this morning.  Anyone else have this pop up again and any suggestions...getting really tired of it and would have to move off apple mail client...but not sure what the options are.  I'm using MacBook Air with Sierra 10.12.6.  iPhone is working fine.
