Did iOS 11.0.1 do something to Mail?

After updating to iOS 11.0.1 I notice my native Mail app seems to be 'checking for mail' all the time rarely stopping doing this. Also first 3 or 5 lines not seen in review. This may have happened after asking Siri to show me my recent emails? Or it may have been related to my drag and dropping a PDF file from Documents to a new email? Anybody else notice any problem with Mail after the update?

Have you tried a hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons?

Thank you Michel for your help. I tried a hard reset I am now trying to reconnect to my ISP email provider and in essence starting over again by creating the account over again and I hope that might work. We will see? I am just suspicious that there may have been a bug in the new iOS update?
