Itunes has Stopped working
I keep getting the message iTunes has stopped working. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing iTunes many times. I had contacted Apple at one point and they told me that I needed to uninstall items in the following order iTunes, QuickTime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour and then Apple Application Support. I have done this numerous times. Can anyone help or offer suggestions. Using Windows Vista Home Premium SP2. Thanks.

I am going to try a quick reboot as well. I'll be right back.
Reboot didn't help - same errror - iTunes has stopped working - I have seen that you have helped others - I am so frustrated and am truly appreciative for your help.
StackHash error has something to do with VISTA's DEP (Data Execution Prevention)
I managed to get something online from Tech expert and hope this will resolve your issue. Good Luck!!
The StackHash error happens any time DEP is found that there is an issue with the program run. The error is related to Data Execution Prevention. Here’s how 99 percent of Vista and Win7 users can fix a StackHash failure:
- Click the run button and open the Control Panel
- Browse to the section of System Maintenance then to the System
- At the left side, select Advanced System Settings link
- In the System Properties Window the top section is named as Performance with the Settings button. Click this button.
- Choose the Data Execution Prevention tab.
- Select the option which reads Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
- Use the Browse button to locate the executable file for the application you were trying to start when you received the StackHash error, and click Open to add it to your exceptions list.
- Click Apply or OK to commit your changes.
Note: Nobody can guarantied you that described instruction will solve the 100% of the StackHash error issues but you can try it to resolve the problem.
Hello - I tried your suggestion. When I went to locate the executable file for iTunes, I get the response - I get an error that says that "This program must run with DEP enabled. You cannotturn off DEP for this program."
I tried to open iTunes once again just by chance that it would have fixed it but to no avail. Here is the latest Problem report - I no longer get the Problem Event name of APPCRASH it is now BEX - Does that mean any thing? Thanks again for trying to help!! Any other suggestions?

Try right mouse click itunes icon, select Properties, Compatibility tab, check the box "Run as Administrator", then OK.
Now run the program by double click iTunes icon again
I tried it and received the same error. It seems as if we may be getting closer though, huh? I enclosed the report again if it helps. Any other suggestions? And as always thanks!

OK repeat right mouse click itunes icon, select Properties, Compatibility tab,
This time check the box "Run this program in compatibilty mode and choose XP(SP3) & also to check the box "Run as administrator" then OK.
Now start your iTunes.
Same error - the only thing that I couldn't choose was Windows XP (SP3). I only had Windows XP (SP2) option.
The Problem report looks the same. Any other ideas? Thanks again for your persistence.
