Adding music to playlist but not library?

I uploaded all my music to my library in iTunes and want to recreate all my playlists (having previously used 3rd party software previously).

It's taking ages because iTunes doesn't sort by folder so I'm having to manually search each album. Ideally, I'd just drag and drop from the folder they live in, but without re-adding it to the library.
Is this possible, or is there a better way so I can view the songs/albums based on their location on my HD?
