my iphone wont update

My iphone goes thru the process of the update and completes it. When I go to setting to check the software update it does not shows the lates software update.

I understand from your post the phone goes through the update process and completes but when you go to Settings and check to ensure your on the latest iOS version, it doesn't show as the latest update. 

If you updated via Wi-Fi, check out this article for help over the air: Get help with over-the-air iOS updates
If you have access to a computer, you can also update your device using iTunes. Here are those steps: Update the iOS on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Also, check and make sure you have enough space available for the update: If you need more space for an iOS update
