My flash drive won't show up in the Finder

My flash drive was working before. But since last time,  I did eject it when I was finished (but I don't know why there was a warning popped up saying something like I didn't eject it or I ejected inappropriately.) So when I plugged it into my Mac next time, It won't show up in the Finder sidebar. Then, I did some research about it and found that Disk Utility may help.  So I found Disk Utility in the application folder and my flash drive showed up in the disk utility side bar,but I don't know how to use Disk Utility to let it show up again in the finder .Btw, verify and repair did not work. Thanks.

I didn't see external disk after I clicked on general tab. Here is what my screen looks like.

see, there is no check external disks. I did see my flash drive showed up in the disk utility, but i don't know how to fix it and let my flash drive show up again in the finder.

Never mind, I randomly clicked on something in the disk utility and then my flash drive showed up in the finder again. Thanks for your help anyway!

Just reboot your Mac.  After you've restarted, the flash drive should read just fine.

Not true at all. And just wasted a reboot for nothing.

I have *never* been able to get my Canon 5D Mark III compact flash drives to show up in *any* Mac finder and it's just infuriating that something that is so easy to do on a PC just eludes the powers to be at Apple, despite this being an ongoing problem for a decade or more.

No, Image Capture is not the solution. What if you want to use your Camera with a 32GB CF drive to transfer files -- not photos -- from one Mac to another? You're out of luck ... as I am today, after buying a super-expensive iMac.
