Can you get the Apple Watch app on the iPad for...

I wondered because I want to get one and with lte you don’t need your phone with it so suggestion

Actually, you do need the iPhone to activate the watch to start with. You will need an iPhone 6 or newer with iOS 11 to activate an Apple Watch GPS + Cellular. And to activate the SIM in the Apple Watch, it copies information from your iPhone, and your cellular account. You cannot activate or manage your Apple Watch with the iPad.

No, you cannot get the Watch app on your iPad for Apple Watch Series 3 or any other Apple Watch models.

 

A compatible model of iPhone is required in order to set up and use all models of Apple Watch, including for managing and syncing with the watch over time:

 

  • Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) requires an iPhone 6 or newer with the latest version of iOS 11.x.
  • Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS) and all other Apple Watch models require an iPhone 5s or newer with the latest version of iOS 11.x.

 

Apple Watch cannot be set up on a standalone basis or synced with an iPad or any other device from Apple or any other manufacturer.
