How to upgrade from iOS 5.1 to iOS 9.1

HI,

I have an old iPad 2 16GB with Wi-Fi. It has iOS5.1. I'm unable to upgrade to iOS 9.1.

The most recent and only iOS that you might be able to update to is iOS 9.2.1 which is the current iOS. Are you sure you have an iPad 2? Does it have a camera? If not, it is the original iPad model and can not be upgraded any further than iOS 5.1.1.

Try since it appears yo are going to Settings>general>Software update in order to update

Why can I only update to 5.1.1? What if I want it to a more recent iOS?

If you only have a 1st generation, 2010 iPad, iOS 5.1.1 is the highest iOS that iPad model can go.

You want/need an iPad with a more recent iOS and more features, you’re going to have to purchase a new iPad.

The 1st gen iPad is almost 8 years old.
