Uninstalling OneDrive

I downloaded Microsoft OneDrive awhile ago from my school's 365 account access, but I never use it and need to free up storage. So I find that I cannot delete the application because it is open, but it does not appear on the top bar with any settings, file, edit, view, etc.. There is just the cloud icon next to my bluetooth option on the top bar. When it pops open and I select settings, it states that it is up to date, storage used and user profile, but all of those options are grey and cannot be selected. I have found online that there should be more settings options like close, etc. What is a correct and non-damaging process to delete the underlying files or software so I can rid my computer of this terrible application?
