IPad Air 2 malfunction after IOS update

I placed several calls to Apple care last week. The agent could never seem to call me back in a reasonable amount of time regarding case number 100318535586, and the case explanation is incorrect. It states the battery was insufficiently charging. That is not all of the situation. The battery only charges connected to the computer in DFU mode. It started with the IOS 11 update and has gone downhill since then. The issue is narrowed down to the IPad itself is not recognizing the connection to the computer or wall unit to charge. It has been stuck in recovery and iTunes cannot update or restore, generates error 4013. I watched the Apple mobile driver appear in DFU and disappear in restore mode. I have been through new cables, adapters, recovery software purchases, online apple instructions and all has failed. iTunes has been updated and reinstalled several times. We even purchased a new IPad but I need this one to work, I prefer my IPad Air 2 to get this IPad 5th generation.

 

What else can I do?


The Apple store is a too far until I get back to Jacksonville in November and I am extremely unsatisfied that an update can cause a firmware issue like this. I have been an IPhone, IPad and Mac Pro customer of Apple since Iphone 3 but I am mad enough about this to ditch Apple for another brand over this.

 

I need your help and a quick response.
