I'm currenty operating OS 10.8.5 on a MacBook Pro, and it's time to update...any advice as to what to update to?   ....all the way to High Sierra or ???  what to watch out for?

Thank you

Upgrading to High Sierra if your Mac is compatible would be a good idea.

Check requirements and other information here: https://apple.com/macos/how-to-upgrade.

To run ElCapitan 10.11 or later, Users report you should have MORE than 4GB of RAM for adequate performance.

Apple lists requirement as 2GB. That is what is required to Install it. But that is NOT what is needed to be happy with it.
