what happens when i download a playlist, then i...

i downloaded a playlist yesterday with 54 songs, then it updated overnight. now if i check the downloaded music from that playlist, i only see (& can only play) 2 of the original songs (which happen to be on today’s version of the updated playlist). So what happened to the other 52 songs that i downloaded yesterday? Are they still on my phone, or are they gone?

second question, how can i make sure all 54 songs and the original playlist are available offline for future use? is there some kind of hack, like creating a new playlist and importing the original playlist and songs, or such? I travel a lot and often don’t have internet access for days, so saving playlists offline is important to me.

I just figured out that I can add the entire playlist to my own new playlist, thus keeping it indefinitely....still wondering what happened to the other songs i downloaded yesterday though.
