I have had multiple apple ids..how do I unify a...

I keep getting the box ' This Mac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with...my iCloud address..' I have forgotten the password..

I have remembered a previous apple id and have now accessed my old iTunes and authorised this laptop but I can't get rid of message box which pops up every 5 minutes..
