Student Email/Exchange Account Unacceptable Pro...

The proof is in the pudding; as is said and the pudding here is that iPhone does not seem to work for students.

The heading says it all "iPhone in Business and Education".

I am not in a business or a tutor/teacher and my university that I started to study in this week, have given me an email account that they and I may keep in contact by.

Now I have connected my student email account to my device and it happens to be a "mail.365.com" domain. and have to open my device by a password, which has to be around 22 characters long.

The important question is; why is there not an option at the very least 1, Business 2, Tutor/Teacher, then one might have thought to add 3, Student

With these options, the level of security can be chosen, or is it thought that a student should not be able to afford Apple devices.

I do not want to be carrying note books with such size passwords, for a device that automatically locks itself, or with concentrating on such a code not knowing who may be looking over my shoulder at my code. I am not carrying a office desk with my code everywhere I go, as I am a student who is supposed to be studying, not a business person for no cooperation.

Surely this is the most unsecured process ever.

Please guide me someone on what I should do.

Delete my account and stop getting the contact I need in my study or continue taking the risk to keep in contact to reply or request.

Outlook will not accept the exchange address.

looking for some direction but having a right rant.

this has nothing to do with your phone, so I don't know why you're posting here and ranting about it.  Contact your school's IT dept and complain to them, as they put the policies in place that your phone must adhere to.

I'm really not clear on what your issue is. It sounds as if your school gave you an email account that enforces a complex passcode on your iPhone. Is that correct? That is entirely at the discretion of your school. It has nothing to do with Apple.

If you mean something else, please clarify.

Your university gave you the account, and have set up the security and any restrictions involved with it.

If you have questions or concerns about the account or what restrictions have been placed on it. the place for you to go for answers is the university's IT department. They can explain it all.

Thanks Templeton Peck

Yes, I did go on a bit and i ask your forgiveness.

I had just started this uni and it was the first time i had ever been given an MS Office Mail 365 address, which I thought, after the email address not being able to login the "Outlook", I thought the Exchange would of been the one.

That's when my phone went nuts for the obvious reason you mentioned.

To be honest, I got a bit fretful and panicked.

Luckily, after having the MS Outlook app, I found it had it's own MS Office 365 feature, which works a treat.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Remember the immortal words of Douglas Adams: "Don't panic."
