iTunes wont open iOS11 on iPhone6

While downloading a song from apple music iTunes quit.  Now I cannot open iTunes (sometimes only black screen then home screen, sometimes iTunes screen for 1 second then quits to home screen), and cannot sync phone to iTunes (phone connects but wont sync).  Latest iOS and iTunes installed, using USB connection for sync.
