Update Unavailable With This Apple ID

I bought a refurbished iMac not too long ago.  I already installed several apps and when I try to update them an error message says something to the effect of:

"Update Unavailable with this apple ID.  Either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled."

How do I fix this?  Thanks in advance.

Software in a second hand machine is not transferrable.

You need to wipe the Mac first.
