ipad iOs upgrade

Hello. I have an iPad2 which is still running iOs 7.1.2. And YES, I am way behind on these updates! I KNOW! But due to a prolonged illness, I have only recently regained my iPad to use. So due to its age, what are the recommendations for this oldie, but still goodie? Do you think it can handle the newest version? Or will it only upgrade what it can?

The iPad 2 will update to iOS 9.3.5 but it will not update to the current 10.3.3 versions of iOS.

I have one and it works very well with 9.3.5.

Your options are to leave it on its current iOS version or update it directly to 9.3.5. It can’t run anything newer than that, and iTunes won’t allow an intermediate version to be installed.
