How to connect non pop/imap school email to Mac...

Hi, my school's email service is not pop/imap based so I am having difficulty setting it up on the mail icon on my macbook air. I have the server and domain names. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

What version of OS X are you running?

It needs to be at least one of those 2 or maybe Exchange based (which is technically IMAP).  If its something else, then

you need to contact your school's IT department for setup instructions.

FWIW, I don't believe there's any other email type, and if there is, its unlikely to be supported on the Mac's mail App.

My computer says macOS Sierra Version 10.12.6
