Having issues trying to reset my Mac.

I'm trying to sell my old Mac. I go into disk utility to try to erase the files and the erase button is greyyed out. I also tried in safe mode and it's still greyyed out. Help!

If it originally came with an Install Disc set, then you will need to install that OS X and let the new owner upgrade the OS using there own Apple iD.
