Editing Contacts photo

When I change or edit a photo in Contacts, using an image from Photos, as soon as it syncs with iCloud the photo moves, sometimes completely out of range of the circular crop. It usually moves down and to the right. I have to keep repeating the procedure and eventually, if I am lucky, it will stay put. Very frustrating.
