Problem Listening to Music

How do I listen to my iTunes on an airplane - in Airplane Mode - when I have 80GB of music on my Dell Notebook PC & my iPhone & iPad are ONLY 16GB?  My iPhone only has 9.08GB of space remaining & my iPad only has 6.2GB of space remaining so I don’t have much room for my music!

You download as much as will fit while leaving room for other content, and change what is downloaded to the device from time to time. I'd probably have a regular playlist with my favourite tracks and then a couple of smart playlists that contain new tracks, recently played tracks, not played in a year, highest rated, most played, etc. all limited to say 500Mb or 1Gb, so that content automatically rotates on and off the device over time.
