New back

I have previously backed up my iTunes library to an external hard drive but figured I'd do it again before I connect my new iPod touch.

The trouble is when I drag my library to my external hard drive, it asks me whether I want to "merge" or "replace" and I've never been given this option before. What do I do? I have 26GB worth of music that I do not want to lose.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
