Application run out of memory

Hi,

Mine is MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) with processor 3.3 GHz Intel Core i7 Memory 16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3 and Graphics Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536 MB

macOS Sierra - 10.12.6

For last few days, it keeps showing me "Applications run out of memory" and will pause few applications. Any solutions?

Well ... would be better to tell us which kind of application and activities the Mac was doing.
