Best OS upgrade for Late 2009 Imac

Late 2009 Imac, 4GB ram, 3 ghz intel core 2 duo chip running Lion. What's the best OS upgrade for this machine? I can choose between Yosemite, El Capitan or the latest High Sierra.

Also, I'm using Microsoft Office 2011 and ideally I'd like to avoid upgrading that.
