Can't change song on Spotify through Apple Watch

Before the update I had no problem skipping a song on Spotify through my watch. Now I can't do it. Is this because Apple want us all to listen to music through Apple Music or am I missing something?

I had this exact problem, but managed to fix it literally 5 minutes ago. Don't know if it helps, but what I did was go to the Apple Watch app on my iPhone, go on "Dock", and added "Now Playing" to the dock, so that when I press the side button (not the home/Digital Crown button) and swipe along to "Now Playing" I can control Spotify playback, and the screen looks as described by seanfromllanelli.

I have Spotify and can remotely skip and play songs through the watch. Play a song in spotify>dock? look for now playing> should have the green spotify logo in the top left hand corner. now justt stop and start or skip.

"Now Playing" was saved to my Dock, but I could only control my Apple iMusic, not Spotify.  I opened the Watch app on my iPhone, went into Dock and deleted, then added back, "Now Playing."  That fixed it for me.   

I tried that but everytime I go to Now Playing and start playback it changes to my iTunes music and stops the spotify music.

Sorry, you're right.  I thought I'd fixed the problem, but I hadn't--still couldn't use "Now Playing" to play on Sonos (OK playing on any other output). I did some more research and found the ZonePlay app ($3.99). Works like a charm. Good luck!

"Now Playing" now properly syncs with Sonos

Not sure if it’s because of the newest updat, but even iPhones no longer can control Spotify in the controls when you swipe up.
