ipod touch volume adjusts by itself?
My month old ipod touch, newest generation, adjusts the volume by itself. Sometimes when i unlock my ipod the volume screen will pop up and adjust the volume by itself and turn it all the way up to the highest level. At times it will not leave the screen until i turn the volume all the way down only making it pop up again 5 minutes later to be turned all the way up. This also happens when i am playing my music. I have reset the settings but nothing works. Help!
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.
I'm having the same issues. My volume will raise by itself. Then a few seconds later It will raise again by itself. Then the volume screen pops up n stays on the screen. I tried pressing on/off simultaneously but it just takes screen pictures. What do I do

You start out by reading the post immediately above yours.
I pressed the home button simultaneously along with home button n all it does is takes snap shots of the home screen
The instructions say: Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.
I know it's been a long time since this query was posted but it happened to me too (AT THE OFFICE; volume just went to max by itself!) so i thought i'd offer up my solution, which is to set volume restrictions.
Go to "Settings", then "Music", then "Volume Limit". Final step is to drag the "Max Volume" thingy to what you feel you're comfortable at the time.
Let me add that this isn't permanent fix, just a bandaid. Once you disable volume limit, the volume will go nuts again.
