Volume button is disabled on YouTube
If you notice that the volume button is disabled on YouTube videos, try the following troubleshooting steps:
All browsers and mobile devices
- Make sure that sound/volume is enabled on your browser or device.
- Restart your browser or device.
Internet Explorer
To ensure that videos play with audio on Internet Explorer, make sure your settings allow webpages to play sound.
- Go to Internet options
- Select Advanced
- Go to Multimedia
- Make sure the following settings are checked:
- “Enable alternative codecs in HTML5 media elements”
- “Play sounds in webpages”
