Get credit for subtitle & CC contributions

After submitting a subtitle or CC contribution, you can have your name show in list of contributors in the video’s description on the watch page.

Approve credit display

In order to see this option, you need to have a channel on YouTube. When you approve, reject, or submit content, just make sure the box for Credit my contribution is checked.

Once the version of the video that you worked on is published, your name and channel link show in the video’s description. It also shows the language you’ve contributed to in every language that the description is available in.

If you don't see your name in the list

If your name doesn't show in the list of credits, it may be because you didn’t contribute enough to the currently published version or the version that you contributed to isn't live yet.

Remove credits

You can always opt out of having your name show in the contributor credits.

  1. Sign in to your YouTube account.
  2. In the top right corner, click on your account > Creator Studio.
  3. In the left-hand panel, select Community > Contribute subtitles and closed captions.
  4. Select the My contributions tab.
  5. For the video you want to remove your credited name from, uncheck the box in the Credit column.
