My iWatch no long show contact names or pictures

After the initial pairing between the iPhone (iOS 8.3) and iWatch (version 1.0.1) contact names and pictures were displayed on the iWatch.  Now the iWatch no longer shows contact names in Messages and contact pictures in Friends.  This started after I reset my iPhone 5S to fix another problem.  The iPhone reset wiped out the pairing with iWatch.  After repairing the iPhone and iWatch  contact names and pictures do not show up.  These actions did not correct the situation:

1. Powering off the iWatch.
2. Powering off the iPhone.
3. Powering off both iWatch and iPhone.
4. Deleting and adding back each contact in Friends in the iWatch app on the iPhone.

The iWatch does not have any of the contact on my iPhone in any of its apps.

I have the same problem, and restarting my Apple Watch did not fix it.

Same here - restarting Apple Watch and restarting iPhone didn't work. A few contacts show picture and name/initials, most don't.

Scrap my previous post - turning Bluetooth of and on again on the iPhone seems to have fixed it...

Turning off bluetooth did not fix the problem on my iWatch.  However now most of the pictures in Friends do show up: go figure!

I solved this issue on my watch by going to the apple watch app - contacts and changing from "mirror my phone" to custom

On your iphone:

Go to

-Settings

-Mail, Contacts, Calendars

-icloud

-Turn Contacts off

-Wait a couple minutes then turn Contacts back on

My iwatch re-synced from there

Worked for me, Well, technically I toggled my airplane mode on and off which also automatically toggles Bluetooth on and off.

I've tried everything and mine still isn't showing names! What shall I do?

The only thing that worked for me was to unpair and re-pair my watch but it's working fine now :)

This worked after powering off both devises, then turning on the iPhone first, then the watch, then holding down the button until you see the power off screen again

this worked, sort of.  I went to Settings -> iCloud -> Contact, turn off, wait a few minutes, turned back on, the names reappeared instead of phone numbers

Turning on the airplane mode on my phone then off worked for me. Thanks
