Mounting old Fusion Drives via external enclosures

Hi,

If I toss Fusion drives extracted from a Late 2013 27" iMac into external enclosures and hook them up via USB will it mount on my new 2017 iMac also with its own fusion drive so I could temporarily copy off some files?

I originally just pulled the HDD thinking I could just mount that and be done, then I realized the fusion is more like a applefied raid array and all the file allocations were on the SSD.

I read something from Apple that said you couldn't have an external drive used as part of a fusion volume. Not sure if I'd be wasting my time and money getting a second external enclosure for the SSD and need to go about it a completely different way.

Cheers!
