MBP 15" 2016, first popping sound and now blown...

Model: MBP 15" 2016, 2.7 i7, Radeon 455

I had those popping sounds like from this other thead Popping Sound, MBP 2016, and this evening after waking the laptop i heard from the right side loud crackling sound. I turned off my mbp fast. After turning it back on i noticed that the sound from right side is different, not clear. Then i played some video and put my ear close to right and left side. And can defiinetly notice that the right side distorted and posibly blown.

Can i test this somehow to be sure, Im from europe and in my country we dont have official apple centers only partners. And im not sure how long will i be without my MBP for them to repair it.

I had my Macbook Air without problems, and now this Macbook Pro is littealy 2 weeks old and so many problems.

Whats happening, i need it for work, and if i have to give it for repair it can take up to 45 day ( by law ) for them to repair it.

Hi,

You can try resetting the SMC: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295, but I wouldn't have too much hope.

Not much testing is needed. Go to System Preferences > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers > move the balance slider all the way to the right and listen to something. I'm betting you already know the answer to what you're going to hear. Time for the repair shop, or possibly a refund/exchange if you're still within the 14 day return window.

I've had the popping since receiving my custom built 15" MBP in January (larger hard drive and Intel HD Graphics 530 1536 MB).  The popping was subtle and so random at first I wasn't sure what I was hearing.  After contacting support and them having no solution, it became part of life with my new MBP.

Now, my right speaker drops its quality and becomes a tinny sounding POS.

So, yesterday I pressed Apple again about the popping noise and now the sound quality in the right speaker.  Advanced Technical Support told me it was a "display issue" and to bring it in for repair.

So, today I take my beautiful MBP in to the Apple Store to drop it off for and estimated repair time of 2-weeks ;(.  I'm not happy about this but really have no other options...

Last week I experienced the same thing. A program I was using (Sip) made a noise, and my 2016 MacBook Pro immediately started making a rapid-fire popping noise. I couldn't get it to stop until I shut down the computer. After restart, I found that the right speaker is blown.

Apple can't say how long the repair will take, so I'm running it on the left speaker only until I can afford to be without my computer for a long time. With all the speaker repairs Apple has had to do on this model that's less than a year old, they clearly know how long it will take. I'm really surprised that they are not expediting this repair.
