White screen, won't boot

Macbook Pro 2011, Sierra, 16gb, 500gb SSD.  Horizontal lines on Startup, progress bar goes half way, then white screen.  Won't boot in Recovery or Safe modes.  Apple Hardware Test say "no problems found".  Any suggestions (short of trashing the computer)?

If it's a 15" or 17", your MacBook Pro likely has a faulty discrete/dedicated GPU. So many of this model have the issue that Apple created a repair program for them, but it expired. Unfortunately, the GPU is soldered onto the logic board, so the fix is to replaced the logic board. This is probably not cost-effective. I would bring the Mac to an Apple Store “genius” bar for a free diagnosis: https://support.apple.com/contact
