Entering dates for Calendar events just got screwy

Within the last 2 weeks or so, whenever I create an event in Calendar, changing the date and time is messed up. The month window appears behind the event window so you can't click on the day desired. You have to click and drag the event window away and it changes format somewhat and then the calendar window remains at the same place on the screen and can be adjusted.

What changed?

macOS Sierra: Date & Time System Preferences

Does this occur for a different user, e.g. ,Guest?

Does this occur after starting up in Safe Mode?

Consider the possibility of a third party software conflict.  EtreCheck can be used to investigate what is installed.

Not sure about other users - but happens both on my Mac Mini at the office and my MacBook Air at home (both in the same iCloud account). Not sure how a different software would impact - this is mostly from events created directly in Calendar.
