Ipad Pro shuts off while charging and requires ...

Hello,

I got my iPad Wednesday, spent the evening getting it all setup.  Restored from back up, ensured everything was there, wiped my iPad air 2 (sold it), deleted it's back up and went on with my normal routine.

At night it was down to 40% so I charged it and went to bed.  When I woke up it was "dead".  It wouldn't wake up.  I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to come to life.  Worked on it for a couple of hours and had to run an errand.  Plugged it back in as I was going to need a full charge later that day.  Came back to it, same thing.  Dead.  I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to turn on.

Used it more, then last night plugged it in and this morning, same thing.  I am thinking that there is an issue with this iPad.

I am now restoring it, since that it what online support recommended I try.  Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue?

i have the same issue. I plug it in for the night and in the morning it is non responsive. I always have to hold the home button down to re-boot. Did you find out why this is happening?

No. Still trying the apple way.  I have it restored As new and having it charge now.

I experienced the same problem.  I havent performed a restore and prefer not to do that so I'm going to hold off on doing that for time being.

Ive also had a couple instances when I couldnt wake it up when it was clearly on because siri was working but I couldnt get the screen to wake up either from touch on the screen or the home button.  I had to hold the on/off and home screen buttons to do a hard reboot.

Same here. Having the exact same problem.

Same exact issue withe the same "resolution". This seems to be a developing problem with the Pro.

Going to try a different charger tonight. The pro came with a 12W charger. Going to experiment with a 10W charger

IM having the same problem. I've charged my new iPad pro twice and both times it required a hard reset to get it working. Very frustrating.

I have the exact same issue. When I connect my iPad Pro to the charger for more than an hour, it goes dead.

It takes multiple hard resets to bring it back to life.

I hope that this thread gets longer so that Apple can address this issue.

hi I have the same problem set ipad up as new when I got it so that won't fix the issue. Different charger won't help, you need to get it replaced getting my replacement toda..

David did so,some at Apple advise you to get it replaced?  Hopefully there is a different and easier fix (future software update). Please let us know if your replacement has this same issue.

daz yes was advised to bring it in  

I did apple online support and diagnostics and chatted with someone who suggested that I do a restore through iTunes  which I have just completed however it's too soon to say whether not fabulous fix the problem
