Can I silence the startup in Sierra

Psst doesn't start when booting up my MacBook Pro running Sierra. What's the fix?

Have you checked for an update?

The easiest way of stopping the start up sound is:

press the mute key on the keyboard before shutting down the mac.

Do not use any tool that can do it: they can cause issues, even the one that just mutes like you yourself can do.

Not required , let the computer work in a normal way .

The simple way to do it used to be to plug in headphones.
