Ethernet Over USB

Hello Fantastic Peoples of Earth,

I'm writing because I am not able to connect my newest-gen 15" MBP to the internet via Ethernet on my brand new USB-C hub. The hub's working great for USB-C passthrough power, standard USB, 4K HDMI, etc., but the Ethernet port just sits there like an object that is not in motion. This is the new MBP which just has 4 USB-C ports and nothing else. Network pref's show no Ethernet option, and creating a new connection type has a bunch of weird stuff in the list, but no ethernet! Any idea why this is the case? I've got to be able to use Ethernet in my work environment, where my wired internet is much much faster than wireless. Here's a screenshot of my network connections, grateful for any ideas. This is a brand new MBP and a brand new hub, both unboxed this week.

Have you tried restarting the MBP while the hub and the ethernet cable was connected?

Wow, amazingly simple solution. Can't believe I didn't try this. Thank you for the help, it rebooted and there was a whole host *ba dum tiss* of new connection types, including USB 10/100/1000 LAN that was automatically configured for IPv4 using DHCP. This has to be it, since I can still connect after turning off Wifi. Thanks for the help!
