Bought phone pending erase

I recently bought a phone and the activation code was not letting me set it up, i contacted the seller who tried to erase the phone. The erase was pending until the phone was connected to the the internet, but it is connected and i has done a restart, hard restart, and restore and nothing has changed, please help i don't know what to do.
