Issue with Internet on network

Office environment with multiple Mac's.  2 with OS Sierra 10.12.6, a MacBook Air and an iMac.

Changed network IP addresses, and the 2 Sierra machines flipped out.  They can see the network, join the network, given DHCP addresses, can see DNS from router, can see Macs on the network.

They cannot:  Connect to a website "Resolving Host" issues, cannot create or use VPN, cannot get mail.  Network diagnostics show all is well up to internet.

Have tried: Creating add'l user - same issues.  Dumping pref's, looking for any 3rd party software (one is a new iMac we haven't assigned to anyone yet), wired vs. wireless.  Reboots, different browsers, keeping one leg in the air, etc. and no fixes.

All other Macs and PC's are purring along like nothing happened.  Cruising the web, connecting to VPN, etc.

Try restarting your mac.

Great advice, why didn't I..... oh wait I did.  Please read my entire original post.

The common factor is that network's router. Restart it so that it can redistribute its IP addresses, assuming that is how you configured it.

While you do that, you might as well restart all the client devices on that network, to the extent practicable.
