What has happened to Apps in iTunes Store?

My MacBook Pro has upgraded itself to the latest iTunes and now I cannot find Apps in the iTunes Store.

What has happened?

How do I access Apps using iTunes?

How do I search for Apps and updates to Apps using iTunes?

Has Apple decreed that we can no longer use iTunes for downloading, purchasing or updating Apps?

I prefer to use iTunes to update, purchase and install Apps.

Also, when you click on the iPad symbol in iTunes, the Apps section has disappeared. I used this section to keep my Apps arranged and grouped in the way I wanted.

Are we going to get a specific App Store when Mac OS is upgraded to the latest version?

For the first two you don't. For the last, yes.

Apps are not included in iTunes 12.7, the management (e.g. downloading, updating, moving around screens) of apps is now done directly on each device - though as you are on a Mac you could get Apple Configurator 2 from the Mac App Store, that lets you arrange apps on a device.

This is typical of Apple in my opinion. They definitely do not have a care for users by suddenly changing the way things are done without any pre-announcement.

I will check out Apple Configurator 2 to see how it works.
