Why Do I Have To Enter My Password Twice to Log...

Why Do I Have To Enter My Password Twice to Log In to Sierra on my iMac?

I'm guessing, but the first time might be to unlock FileVault (whole disk encryption), after booting your Mac.

If this is the case, then you can always change your System Preferences -> Users & Groups -> Login Options so you are automatically logged in, after boot, depending on the FileVault password to prevent someone from getting into your Mac.

ASSUMES you do not have multiple users on your Mac that can enter the FileVault password to boot your Mac, unless you want them to be able to automatically get into your Mac account.
