Upgrade from 10.8.5 to 10.12.6: intermediate st...

hi,

in a couple of days I want to help a friend to upgrade her 2012 MacBook Pro. Installed at present is 10.8.5.

My Question is: Can she install 10.12.6 directly or is it necessary to install one or several versions in between?

I am worried about the iPhoto-Library, iTunes- and iMovie-Libraries.

It isn’t necessary to install any intermediate versions, but the computer should be backed up before proceeding.

Check to make sure your applications are compatible. PowerPC applications are no longer supported after 10.6.

Also check to make sure there is a compatible driver for your printer.

Do a backup before installing, preferable 2 backups on 2 different drives.
