Import .emlx files into Mail without 2000 ...

I changed mail clients to a 3rd party client recently.  Today I noticed I was getting notifications that emails could not be sent, which periodically repeated.

When I went to 'look' for these emails I discovered my entire history of Sent messages was GONE!

The only saving grace is that my Apple Mail client has a fairly complete copy (sans a couple days) of my sent messages.

The *problem* is as soon as my client goes on line these all vanish...

I originally tried to export Sent while it's offline, but I end up with an empty mailbox...

I also tried to copy/move the Sent files while offline, but I end up getting an error after what appears to be an attempt to connect to the internet a couple thousand times.

The only thing I've been able to successfully do is to manually export the entire folder as emlx files...

Now I just need a method to get these files back in...  Unfortunately my attempts have either failed or left me with an insurmountable problem...

I first tried copying the emlx files into an existing mailbox I created and 'rebuild' but this has not worked at all...

Second I tried various means to 'Import' the messages as a mailbox.

While this gets the emails into the Apple Mail client, it leaves me with one huge problem:  Every email somehow ends up in a sub-folder of it's own, leaving me with over 2000 folders, each holding 1 to 2 emails total...

Does anybody know how I can get these emlx back into Mail without having to keep sort though 2000+ folders any time I need to find them?
